Just updating that I am indeed still alive and kicking, and to wipe the previous journal which had been stagnating for quite a while.

Not too much to report, going to be a busy holiday season for me. I may have a couple announcements to keep a look out for but I won't be jumping the gun on those just yet. Work ish eavy but also under wraps at the moment.

I have aim to attend Anthrocon again this coming year, but I won't know for certain until it is a little bit closer. There is a plan to have a new portfolio available at that time. Beyond that, I cannot say and even that is in the 'maybe' folder.

Aside from that, I found that Call of Duty 4 is an enjoyable game. I liked the singleplayer a lot, and the multiplayer is an interesting fast paced alternative to Battlefield 2, even though cheating is already fairly rampant.

Hope Xmas doesn't kill you all, and if it does, I hope it is quick and painless.
  Cheers~

Hmm quick and painless would be nice but for some odd reason i have a feeling Christmas is sitting right behind me dulling its carving knives. Heh :P

I hate martyrdom it sucks some of the fun out of the game cause everyone has it ya can't kill someone without havin to make a break for it. Last stand is for real soldiers lol

Glad to see your okay, I bought myself a PS3 yesterday and I think I'll pick up a copy of Call of duty 4 ... if they sell it in Ireland yet that is D:

I've seen the trailers to it and it looks like a game I would enjoy. It would beat playing CS all the time.

Meh, Call of Duty 4 is very good, but I kinda miss the WW2 epic timespace. Anyways, it's a good game, have already tried it on the PS3, now I gotta get myself the game for PC.

Have a nice christmas dude, don't get yourself killed as well haha.

I am more for modern combat. WW2 has been done so heavily that I find myself less interested in it.

Sorry, I read this and I was thinking, "Wow, the planet's biggest and bloodiest war, encompassing millions of lives and untold destruction and suffering... and we've made so many games based on it: it's become boring." [Don't tell "the Greatest Generation."] No offense though, it happens when your beat horse to death... and beyond.

Anyway, I don't believe in Christmas, so it can't get me. ;-) [Of course, that didn't work on Futurama... Hm.]

I find the war interesting on a political scale and by far there was a lot to learn. However, games are made for entertainment and as with a movie, if i go through the same one too many times the entertainment ceases to entertain.

First: Wow. I actually got a reply. I didn't think a sly, quick giggle would get a second glance. Not only that, but given the workloads that a visual artist of your stature generally builds up I especially thought that you'd go about your business with no time to spare for said quick giggle.

Second, I wasn't making a snide remark to you, personally. I was just compelled to say that because, well, game designers and various other entertainment media have overdone the War in so many ways that we've reached that level. Ah, the cheapness of corporate activity. =p

Anyway, the main point of why I replied to your reply: You used that little word, "political." If you ever get a moment to spare, could you elaborate? But, meh, you're always busy my good man, so you can just do whatever you want.

Well, then I guess I should reciprocate and call this the last posting that needs be made, regarding this journal/topic, then.

Frankly, when I read this, I had to say that I smiled; for several reasons, actually.

First, I was, again, pleased you were so kind to take a moment out of your very busy schedule to make for a small bit of intellectual conversation.

Second, I was impressed by your tact and responsibility with your rebuff. That was a good call, especially in a public format. Too often, people like going around, shooting their mouth off - and shooting themselves in the foot. For that - if a continent weren't between us - I'd treat you to a drink or dinner; something sophisticated [or not]. You and I probably have politics as different as day and night, but I respect that kind of wisdom.

So, in lieu of a drink or any other sign of respect, I'll just offer the ceremonial "cheers" that some of your commenters leave in images and journals. Of course, I'm a tea-totaller, so I'll just have a Coca-Cola to your good health.

Cheers. =)

Right you are ;)

I find the WW2 a rather interesting event from historical point of view, but it's been overdone with games and movies...

Yeah. Hopefully Christmas for me won't be bad since times like this can get rough. It's great to hear from you again and that you're doing fine as always, man. As for gamewise, Super Smash Bros. Brawl is going to be the best for 2008 on the Wii that's for sure.

You're right. So far the best games for this year on the Wii for me have been RE4: Wii Edition, RE: Umbrella Chronicles, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games and Super Mario Galaxy. But as I said, the best games for the Wii will be starting early next year.

Already played RE 4 on GC so I didn't repurchase. I enjoyed wario ware smooth moves, Super mario galaxy..and uh. That's it for the most part. We have mario party 8 and twilight princess ,but eh. Eagerly awaiting smash brawl as we still jsut use our wii mostly for smash melee.

That's cool. It wouldn't surprise me if they make a new Starfox game on the Wii for 2008. By the way, knowing from your talent, you can actually give it a shot someday drawing some of the Starfox characters such as Fox, Falco or Krystal(even though you have one in your gallery) and submitting them in your gallery. That will be something everyone would love to see since I admire your work and I'm a Starfox fan myself.

To elaborate a little, I sell auto parts.

"What part do I replace if my car won't start?"

"What do you mean, what model is it? It's a car, damnit!"

"What do you mean, 'which filter?' I want *the* filter."

"What do you mean, you don't know off the top of your head which lightbulb goes in the dome light of a 82 cutlass?"

etc.

I fucking love COD4 on the PS3, best game on the system. I'm only a level 31.

Here's my online multiplayer setup if you care:

Primary Weapon: MP5
Attachments on the MP5: Red Dot Sight or the ACOG Scope
Side Arm: USP .45 (Soon to be replaced with Desert Eagle)
Spec Grenade: Flash Grenade (I love blinding my enemies)
Perk 1: Claymore X2
Perk 2: UVA Jammer
Perk 3: Martyrdom

Haha you may be one of the only ones not relying on the m16 or spraying the p90.

Boo on martyrdom, though, at least use last stand so you actually earn those kills.

I found that the exp earned makes you level so fast that almost everyone is level 55 within 2 weeks of playing. I would have liked it if they made the leveling a bit more gradual so that you would have a lating feeling of working towards something, especially since PC doesn't get prestige ( I play PC). Eventually I will just create a new handle to level all over again.

I'm actually thinking of removing martyrdom and replacing it with last stand cuz I hardly get killed in my clan. Anyways I was really impressed with the story, even though I was playing at the hardest level...

A lot of complaints came from the fact that the story is scripted etc, but I found that to be part of the reason that it was immersive, and I still felt like I had options on how to approach situations. It's the first single player fps experience in a long while that I have really enjoyed, so it was a bonus to the multiplayer.

Not too many really. I mean, other than the occasional lag of death, things are pretty decent. Sadly I think the size of the squads are the only thing thats smaller on the 360 vs the PC's crew, so you're less likely to run into a huge squad of guys, but its still a lot fighting each other.

Its lots of fun. If you play Single Player, stick to Normal at first. Vet is frustratingly hard. In fact, I'd say other than Halo 3's Cortana level on Legendary, SP Veterern difficulty in CoD4 is more difficult. Vet level on CoD4 is just brutally punishing.

Well, mostly I've been playing CoD4, but I'll probably play Halo 3 some because the new map pack comes out today. I'll probably download it when I get home, so yeah, I'll be playing it, if I'm not busy working on coloring a webcomic like a good art ferret.
