Razor-Sharp Reception-Whiplash by JayAxer Razor-Sharp Reception-Whiplash by JayAxer
Here is my interpretation of Jason Canty's Whiplash the assassin. Tagged up her stylins and outfit for this one.
Whiplash used to work for an interstellar corporation known as Gigacore as an agent/spy. However she is no longer aware of this, as she awoke from a coma after an incident she cannot recall to realize she is unable to remember her past.
Her superiors inform her of their ersion of prior events, but she does not beleive them. Her name 'Whiplash" stems from the constant "repremands" for questioning her superiors about her past.
What she DOES know is that she is an expert in combat and can be quite deadly, and this is readily employed.

This is to be used in Canty's upcoming comic about this character.

This is pencil and techpen on typing paper, coloured in Painter IX.

This pic has attracted me to your wonderful furry art. I wish I knew more about this character. I can imagine her being in a furry version of the Metal Gear Solid games. Great pic!

I find it nearly ridiculous at the amount of detail you put into everything.
Of course thats just the jealousy speaking.

This is probably my favorite one in your gallery. Don't get me wrong, I like your work as a whole. This one just seems more appealing to me(possibly the pose, combat knives and well prepared), or maybe cuz I was raised in a militaristic sorta way...

Say is this comic already out? I would really like to check it out sometime.

You just beat Disney/Pixar. This is the best picture I have seen on DA. The detail on the plasterwork, the equipment on her blacksuit, the design of those combat knives and that expressive face. Surely anthro characters can't get any better than this. Instant fave.

I love this piece!

I bought a print of this at Anime Boston this year. I saw it sitting in the artist alley and had to have it. I had written down your info that the guy gave me, but managed to lose it. I saw one of your pieces in the Popular section and just happened to check out your gallery and spotted it.

How did you do the texturing of the rock in the background? Did you draw each little nook and cranny, or did you use some other method? It looks great, please enlighten me!
JayAxer Featured By Owner Jul 31, 2007
started with the overall lighting and shading and then went in and drew all the little nicks and highlights and cracks. Takes a while.

dude, I just love how you DON'T make it look like colored linework... the way you do the latex/leather/shiny-material-people-wear-that-happens-to be-uber-tight shading/lighting is like none other.
very nice, and keep it up!
more importantly, have fun while doing it!
